Rose Hernandez was quoted in this NBC News article about changes in the government’s processing of naturalization applications:
It’s a sad day when our federal government so clearly discourages people from becoming citizens with the clear threat of taking away their already hard-won permanent residence. In many cases we now recommend obtaining a copy of one’s previous immigration file from all the agencies touching immigration before moving forward with the naturalization process. Our most important goal is to not put clients in a worse position. The strategy of carefully reviewing prior filings is intended to provide safety for applicants so they can still pursue the American dream and seek to participate in U.S. society as voters.
