Pride Month in Nashville
As Pride Month draws to a close, Saev Hernandez Immigration Practice recognizes the contributions LGBT immigrants in Nashville and all over the United States have made to our country. Since the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated the Defense of Marriage Act, the U.S. government has provided same-sex couples with equal access to immigration benefits and the same immigration rights as bi-national opposite-sex couples.
Immigration officers at our local USCIS field office in Nashville, TN have special training to work with LGBT immigrants. They have treated our LGBT clients with the same level of respect that they extend to everyone else, and seem to be thorough and effective in processing same-sex immigration cases.
We are proud to represent LGBT families and individuals with immigration matters, including but not limited to:
- K-1 Fiancé visas, immigrant visas and adjustment of status applications
- Survivors of violent crimes
- DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)
- Employment-based visas
- Other Non-Immigrant visas
We understand the complicated situation of LGBT immigrants. Homosexuality and sexual/gender identity receive different treatment around the world. There are places where homosexuality is still a legal crime, including 13 countries where it is punishable by death. And even in countries where marriage equality has passed, LGBT individuals often face violence, discrimination, familial rejection, and ostracism.
As this cultural readjustment plays out, we encourage same-sex couples to explore their immigration options in the United States. Our firm offers a welcoming place in which to discuss your immigration issues and find solutions together.
Saev Hernandez Immigration Practice remains committed to providing services to all individuals and families both in our local community and throughout the country. We are equipped to handle cases remotely and regularly connect with clients all over the world.
